Ray Bradbury's Fahrenheit 451: The Authorized Adaptation Ray Bradbury’s Fahrenheit 451: The Authorized Adaptation by Tim Hamilton

My rating: 5 of 5 stars
What better book to be adapted into a graphic novel?!?! Quick read – read in one sitting. It is a very good adaptation of the novel into the graphic novel form. The message of this novel still rings true today.

Pride and Prejudice and Zombies Pride and Prejudice and Zombies by Seth Grahame-Smith

My rating: 5 of 5 stars At first I was mortified by the idea of this but that quickly changed. The way the zombies are written into the story it seems so natural – like they belong there. I also liked the sense of female empowerment – some of the best zombie killers around are the Bennett sisters. Very entertaining & highly recommended. View all my reviews >>

New Set of Reference Books with a Olean Public Library Connection!

Today we received a new set of reference books entitled ”  Encyclopedia of Time: Science, Philosophy, Theology, & Culture,” edited by H. James Birx.   The set contains three volumes which survey “the major facts, concepts, theories, and speculations that infuse our present comprehension of time.”  (From the product description).

How is this connected with OPL?  Two of the articles, “Mortality” and “Time Warps,” were written by Reference Librarian Carol Ellen Kowalik.  Her articles appear in vols 2 and 3 of the set. Click on the links below to see what the resource looks like and the articles which Ms. Kowalik wrote.
